For $129 bones I can now host all my photos, music, files, and videos on my own cloud securely and privately from my home. Connected to my Internet router via Ethernet I decide who sees what folders and files on the drive and what kind of access they have. They also have an iPhone app that allows for direct upload and download of files to and from my cloud. Sweet.

No more having to email photos and videos to the fam down in Texas, now with direct access, to one of four usb drives the pogoplug supports, they have the ability to see and download full res photos and videos at their convenience. That alone is worth the $129 bucks. The possibilities with this device are endless since they openly support hacking the device for custom apps to run on the mini computer inside the pogoplug. On Fridays I usually stop by to hear Democrat MO State Senator Jolie Justus give her weekly jeff city report at a local coffee spot. Today was by far the most attended one,even with single digit lows and subzero windchills. About 40 people. There was one lone guy, george dechow, who was not drinkin the koolaid. And he displayed his political passion for what he sees as wasteful govt spending. Since I had my iPhone on me I decided to record a short podcast to see where he got his political passion.

In the end I don’t think he quite knows, but he loves his country and wants it to be great again.
